Update about "A Mother's Wish" Inaugural Holiday Programme
Update about “A Mother’s Wish”
Inaugural Holiday Programme, Dec 16–20, 2013
It is with great pleasure and
excitement that I announce that we will be moving forward with “A Mother’s
Wish” (AMW) Inaugural Holiday Programme. I would especially like to thank all
the parents who have expressed interest and taken a leap of faith in this
holiday programme.
In creating a dynamic programme
involving five activities with different service providers (a small-scale
prototype of the AMW vision), we have set the bar high for our end-users with
intellectual disabilities. We aim to learn from this experience and make the
necessary modifications to improve the experience for them.
Currently, we are undergoing the
screening process of the end-users to enable us to customise the academic
curriculum and provide the service providers and trained mentors with
information about the end-users we will be serving.
How you can help
The 50% subsidy we offer for our
holiday programme to make it affordable for the families is provided by “A
Mother’s Wish” fund.
Thus, we would also like to thank the
people who have purchased Sebastien’s paintings (30% goes to the fund) and my
picture book (70% goes to the fund), as well as those who have made donations
to the fund. Thank you from the bottom of our heart.
There are
several wonderful ways for you to support “A Mother’s Wish”:
- Sponsorship of the 50% subsidy for 1 week of our “Holiday Programme” for 1 group of 6 end-users: $1,200 OR 1 end-user: $200. We would be happy to acknowledge you as one of our sponsors.
- Purchase of one of Sebastien’s paintings: $100–$800 (30% of sales price going to the fund, with the remainder going to Sebastien; any payment above the sales price will go exclusively toward the fund): You can view the portfolios on www.awakeningminds.sg.
- Purchase products/services for your gift packages or events: We can customise gifts featuring the art of Sebastien (and other artists with intellectual disabilities in the future). We can also infuse your events with beauty, meaning, and purpose by organising an art exhibition and/or performances (eg music) featuring the talents of individuals with ID, under the guidance of our service providers.
Best
regards,
Kah Ying
