2008 Update: Doing My Part in Special Needs Education

As I continue to revamp my homeschooling programme with Sebastien, in response to his progress and growing maturity, I am also challenged to figure out how best to transmit my increasing knowledge and experience to help teachers to teach students with autism and special needs. Thus, it is with tremendous excitement and dedication that I am launching a more dynamic and interactive workshop approach to engage my audience -- primary school and mainstream school teachers -- for my first three workshops of the year.

January 30: Practical Strategies (Interaction/Communication, Social, Academic, Sensory and Behavioural) for Working with Autistic Children -- An Integrated Approach for Teachers in Mainstream Settings -- For teachers at Bukit Timah Primary School

February 23, 2008: Profiles of Autism : Exploring the Problems and Challenges of Children with ASD -- For teachers at Tanglin School (part of the Association of Persons with Special needs)

March 15, 2008: Language Learning Strategies for Emerging Readers/Writers with Autism and/or Language Processing Difficulties -- For Special Needs Teachers and Parents (under National Book Development Council)

These workshops are also dedicated to the memory of Timmi, my beloved cat whom I have brought up from infancy, who exemplified a spirit of love and a passion for life, which I hope to infuse into my work and my life.
