My Talk and Book Signing Event -- 'Splintered Beauty: The Road from Manic Depression to Recovery’

Dear friends and readers of this blog:

I am proud and privileged to invite all of you to the following event that is hosted by the National Library Board at the Central Lending Library, the basement of the National Library in Singapore. I will be giving an interesting talk/book reading with a Powerpoint slide show and maybe a film, doing a cool demonstration of my exercise routine and conducting a Q&A session. My book, Five Little White Pills… and Then There Were None: A Journey from Manic Depression to Recovery will be on sale and I will be on hand to autograph and/or write an inscription.

Hope to see you all there and bring your friends and family, especially those whom you feel will be touched and inspired by my story...

Details of the programme below:

‘Splintered Beauty: The Road from Manic Depression to Recovery’

A Close Encounter with Choo Kah Ying, Author of Five Little White Pills… and Then There Were None: A Journey from Manic Depression to Recovery

Join Choo Kah Ying as she reveals her personal struggle with the ‘roller-coaster’ ups and downs of manic-depression and her inspiring journey of recovery. Finding redemption in her love for her autistic son, which initiated her on a journey of healing and recovery, Ms. Choo has transformed her adversity and pain into lessons of love and courage.  With her book, she challenges us to transcend our limitations to accomplish things of heroic proportions, as well as value ‘special’ people who have been relegated to the fringe of society. Apart from discussing her personal experience and reading excerpts from her book, she will also be offering and demonstrating helpful practical suggestions for individuals with manic-depression and caregivers. There will be also a Q & A session, books for sale and a book signing at this event.

Date and Time: Saturday, February 28, 2009 (2 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

Location: Central Lending Library, 100 Victoria Street, Singapore 188064.

For additional information, please email Choo Kah Ying at kchoo7@gmail.com, or contact her at 8163-4509.
