From the WORLD OF AUTISM to… SANCTURA™… A SHANGRILA for Special Families and Friends

Journey with me (Ms. Choo Kah Ying) into the world of autism and get a glimpse into the complexity of this baffling condition. Then take a leap of faith with me as I share her vision of Sanctura – a holiday haven and a residential community for families of children with special needs. Sanctura will offer a peaceful and nurturing, but dynamic and diverse community for these families. Children with special needs will be challenged to transcend their deficits, acquire the skills for living and contribute as productive members of this community. Sanctura will not only be my gift to my son in celebration of his indomitable spirit and rare courage, but also the fulfillment of a legacy to leave the world a slightly better place than when I first came into it. Hope you would walk with me on this road less traveled and support me in my endeavour to make this dream a reality.

There will be a slide show of Tanjung Sutera, an existing seaside resort suitable for Santura to be built.

Maria Boey, planner, architect, landscape architect, urban designer and President of Soroptimist International of Singapore, will also be speaking about the practical aspects of building homes for families with autistic children and their friends at this event.

A weekend visit to Tanjung Sutera is also planned for anyone interested to have a lovely and relaxing holidays from Sat. 21^ST to Sun. 22^ND June 08. We need to car pool as transport in the East Coast of Johor is by private means. Alternatively, we can ask Syed Ahmed to organise land transport from Pengarang, a famous seafood Desaru town with ferry boats from Changi Point.

My books will be sold to start the fund-raising for SANTURA.
